We’ve been in London over the past two weeks delighted to have helped the RNLI move out of their Tower Lifeboat Station on the River Thames, near Waterloo Bridge.
Moving office equipment and furniture from a floating site has brought about various unusual challenges and complexities. As the Thames is tidal the gradient of the gangway connecting the Lifeboat Station from the Embankment varied so much. During low tide, in particular, it was extremely steep.
The RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) is the largest charity that saves lives at sea, their volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour rescue service in the UK and Ireland. An astounding 142,000 lives have been saved since 1824.
